Who does not know them, the breathtaking images
of the famous orcas of Valdez? The Orcas known as
beach hunters come to the Peninsula’s shallow waters
in March and April to hunt the sea lion pups.

The so-called “attack canal” is not accessible to the
public. It is reserved for the professionals who sit and
wait in hollows in the gravel for the opportunity to film
or photograph the Orcas.

As the canal is only 50 meters wide, only a few
professionals can get a place. We chose the best time
for this program, when the sea lion pups are being
weaned from their mother and play without care in
the shallow water. Without knowing what an orca is,
their game often becomes their fatality.

In the second phase of the trip, we will visit isolated
animal colonies and islands where there will be
countless photo opportunities.
